I know I’ve been very irregular in writing blogs. This new mommy is super occupied with the baby and work. But as I get time off I am always ready for the blogs. It’s your love that keeps me going. Karwachauth festival is around the corner and this blog is all about styling on this festival
(Karwachauth Fast is observed by married women for the longer life of their husband and sometimes by unmarried girls for praying to get a good groom). In my case, I am traditional enough to dress up and fast the whole day for the long life of my husband but I am very much a woman of this age who would mould the rituals as per her liking. I personally love this festival and consider it as a blessing to have someone in my life for whom I can keep the fast and the most amazing part of this festival is definitely my favourite dressing up. The idiosyncrasies of this festival are usually bright colored saree, suit or lehenga, henna (mehendi), bangles, sindoor, bindi mostly indian bridal stuff and to compile a perfect look here are some tips…
1. Glowing skin : Glowing skin makes any complexion look radiant and flawless. To get that perfect glow you can always go for good facial in salon, or home facials kits available in the market or homemade facepacks to suit your skin type and requirement or simple home cleansing which I explained in my previous blog My Everyday Skin Care Routine.
2. Pretty Hands:
OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA
Ah the Henna! it is considered an auspicious symbol of good fortune for married women and on karwachauth who doesn’t like beautiful henna design on their hands adorned with beautiful nails and secret rivalry to get darkest henna in the group on Karwachauth. For this beautiful art on your hands and feet you can always call a professional or simply get the circle design done yourself with the readymade henna cone, which I am gonna do this time as my little baby won’t spare me anyhow. To go with the super-easy way of applying mehendi get the henna tattoos in whatever color you want, they are superb. For the latest henna designs there are plenty intagrammers and pinterest pinners to follow.
A pretty color on well-trimmed and filed nails enhances the overall look. An amazingly gorgeous nail art to compliment the dress that you have carefully chosen for that day, or golden sparkles to go with your plain outfit which has golden embellishments. You can go for a chic, elegant, dressy or a simple nail art design that enhances the look for the day.
4. The best outfit: With today’s fashion and trend changing so rapidly you can never go wrong with a handloom silk saree and new brides can always recycle their wedding dress to get that new bride, first karwachauth look.
If you have been there done that, the world is your oyster. Capes, shararas, palazzos, crop tops, dhotis, cigarette pants, jackets, high-low kurtas, drapes – the silhouettes are endless! So whatever your shape, size, preference you have got best dress to look upto.
The Capes: It is the hottest trend right now and well paired with sarees, lehengas, dhoti pants, suits, pallazoos and gowns.
Crop Tops and Skirts: Crop tops that double up as blouses, and maxi skirts that are used as lehengas are definite multi-tasking fashion.
Kurtas: Kurtas have been so versatile recently from short kurta to long kurta, from Anarkalis to straight cut to A line to high low kurtas, draped kurtas, jacket style kurta etc. etc. whether you pair them with skirt, palazzo, cigarette pants, dhoti pants, lehenga, sharara, shalwar or leggings there is a style for each body shape and occasion and to complete the look carry a dupatta or just a statement necklace. This versatility is phenomenon.
5. Makeup and hairdo : As this festival is more of an intimate occasion you don’t want to be loathed with makeup like a bride. It should be a normal party makeup and the hair you can get totally creative with – let it loose in curls, do a chic side bun for your hair or a fishtail braid, tie it in a sleek pony – the options are totally limitless. Topped with the bindi, sindoor, bangles and mangalsutra to complete the look.
With this wish you all a very happy Karwachauth.

Today I’m going to talk all about my favorite makeup wearables from high end to drug store products, linked to their shopping sites, and their reviews.
To me makeup is technically applying several medium to the skin to transform or enhance the appearance of a person.
Prep- To start on with the makeup first of all cleanse, tone and moisturise your face well as you don’t want your skin to be looking flaky anyhow, which I’ve covered in my another blog on Skin Care Routine. I prefer applying ice before the makeup as it acts like a toner, tightening my pores and reducing puffiness around my eyes in the morning. It also acts to give a fresh faced look like I’ve just walked in the cold, so my cheeks get that red snow kissed look which I love! and then I moisturiser well.
Prime- Priming is done to give a perfect base to the foundation and increase its staying power, to prime my face I use Laura Mercier Foundation primer in Radiance, I totally love it, though I’ve used other primers like MAC Prep+Prime, didn’t like that as it completely dried out my skin may be it will be beneficial to the one with oily skin. Now coming back to the Laura Mercier Foundation primer in Radiance which is my favorite, it adds just the right amount of life to my face without looking shiny, a perfect glow. To make it do its best you may give it some time to set in and then apply the foundation over it.
Foundation – I prefer applying my foundation before the concealer, and as I’ve got good skin, I don’t need to give any full coverage so I prefer getting the foundations with sheer to medium coverage. Bourjois Paris Healthy Mix and in Serum is my HG foundation. It gives an amazing finish, can’t even tell I’m wearing foundation, doesn’t get in my dry flakes, just gives a soft focus effect. Its staying power is very impressive. If you are prone to acne then check out the silicon content of the foundation, as silicon tends to block your pores leading to breakouts. My other favourite foundations are MAC face and body foundation, L’Oreal Infallible 16h foundation, both give a very sheer coverage to medium coverage and Revlon Colorstay which gives medium to full coverage. Coming to the powder foundations I like MAC Studio Fix Powder Foundation you can apply it on it’s own or on top of liquid foundation to get the coverage as you desire. The basic point that needs to be remembered while doing your makeup for your wedding or some photoshoot avoid any makeup product with any SPF content in it as all the makeup products that protects your face from the sun contains SPF and is meant to reflect light. So when a flash fires directly at your face, the result is known as “flashback.” It’s literally your face reflecting the flash back at the camera. It can make you look ghosty, or like you’re wearing a lot of white powder on your face, you all must would have figured what I’m talking about.
Translucent Setting Powder – It’s a must in your makeup collection as you need something to set your makeup in place and give it a more gorgeous look. Right after you apply the concealer set it with the translucent powder or a makeup setting powder towards the end of your makeup routine to prevent it from creasing. Even apply it right after you are done with rest of the makeup to set it all in. My favourite favourite favourite HG translucent powder is Chanel – Poudre Universelle Libre Natural Finish Loose Powder, it’s like a gem in my collection, it diminishes all the pores and gives your face a nice glow and matte finish, it actually does give that airbrush effect to the whole makeup. At times I apply it on its own to get some glow for my everyday look with some blush on. I’m in love with it.
Blush – I just love blushes. My favorite everyday blush is The Body Shop Lip & Cheek Stain. It works great on my everyday make-up look and on my NC20-25 cheeks this looks great, like just-came-in-from-a-cold-day sheer wash cherry reddish pink, and I only need to apply once to see it. It doesn’t feel sticky after drying and is easy to apply. I tap it in gently with fingers after applying with the wand, usually on my bare skin or after tinted moisturiser/BB cream or a light foundation. If you want a more dramatic look, apply a bit more and slowly build up it up, then set with some translucent powder and Tada!! you get the look!! As a lip stain it looks cute giving that sheer color to your lips, though it doesn’t stay for long. Other powder blushes that I would recommend are NARS Orgasm blush, it is very pigmented and of great quality, color and worth every single penny and almost suits every skin tone, The Body Shop- Baked to Last and other blushes from MAC and NYX. As there are in several shades and textures (liquid, gel, cream and powder) in the market, you can get it all depending on your makeup and color whether you go for pink, coral or peaches.
Contouring – Contouring is done to give shape to an area of the face and enhance the facial structure through makeup. This will make your face look thinner and longer in appearance, providing the illusion of shadow from your cheek bones making your cheeks look more sunken in and also gives definition to your nose. Contouring actually involves adding a powder that is a few shades darker than your actual skin tone (different than a bronzer) to the areas you want to look minimized or further away. For this I prefer MAC Studio Fix Powder Foundation or any other face powder in two shades darker than my skintone.
Bronzing – I love bronzing as it gives that warmth and healthy glow to the whole face and gives an edge to the cheekbones and kind of sculpts your face. If you are going to purchase a bronzer check that it doesn’t have that orange tint in it. The bronzing powder which I love is Bourjois Delice de Poudre in shade 52 and it gives a lovely light brown glow and not orangey at all.
Highlighting – More than giving skin a soft, luminous finish a great highlighter can perk up your complexion, accentuate the features you love. Highlighter is used to make cheekbones more prominent, refine the nose, and make eyes look luminous. Apply it on center of your forehead lightly brushing it outward in a star pattern, underneath your arches of eyebrows, inner corner of your eyes, cheekbone where light naturally hits the face, bridge of the nose, cupid’s bow area and in middle of your chin in a soft circular motion. There are several highlighting products available in the market ranging from liquid to baked powder form and even you may use white/light pencil liner or eye shadow instead. The highlighters that I would recommend are TheBalm – Mary-Lou Manizer which is one of the best highlighters due to its finish, color, staying power and MAC Mineralize Skinfinish in Soft And Gentle – a baked powder that can be used dry or wet.
Primer – Nothing can make your eyeshadow standout other than a wise primer. You can always start with the basic primers then with more expertise indulge into other customised primers. The one which I use is Too Faced Eyeshadow Insurance it’s again my HG product. It makes the eyeshadow stand out and doesn’t let the eyeshadow crease or fade out for hours.
Eyeshadow – The one eyeshadow palette which fulfils all my eyeshadow requirement is Too Faced – Chocolate Bar Palette. It literally wafts the amazing chocolate fragrance up to your nostrils as soon as you open it. It has got 16 eyeshadows made with real cocoa powder. It has got an array of neutrals spanning from traditional browns to pinks and even redder shades like burgundy and purple. The color variety and selection of this palette is wonderful. There are mattes, shimmers, glitters, and satin finishes. Among all the other eyeshadow palettes NAKED and NYX runway collection that I own I always end up using this over and over. You may go for individual colors too ranging from MAC eyeshadows to Maybelline Color Tattoo, all of them have got great pigmentation and texture.
Eyeliner – You can use liquid eyeliner, a liner pencil, Gel eyeliner or even eye shadow on an angled brush to line your eyes. Whatever you pick, move across your upper lash line in tiny, controlled strokes as if you’re drawing a dotted line. Go back and fill in the blanks with more small strokes. For more drama, line your lower lashes as well. When you a getting an eyeliner check for its longevity/ staying power on your eyes and the depth of the color as per your choice and the look that you want to attain.
Eyelashes – To give an edge to your eyes grab a good eyelash curler and curl your lashes. An eyelash curler will make even long lashes look more gorgeous. For added effect, you can heat the curler under a blow dryer for a couple seconds. Test curler before applying to lashes, you don’t want to burn yourself. You can always try false eyelashes to get more of that dramatic look, I love eyelashes from Ardell which are made of human hair which makes them soft and more natural looking. Stick the eyelashes to your lash line using a good glue as DUO eyelash adhesive is my favorite in white.
Mascara – You can apply mascara little or a lot, and there are many different brands and formulas for volume, length and definition. Start at the base of your upper lashes and slowly sweep upward and wiggle back and forth. For a more dramatic effect, apply mascara to the lower lashes as well. I personally keep changing the mascaras trying every new now and then like Maybelline Volume Express Falsies and Maybelline Volum Express Colossal and avoid waterproof mascaras unless or until required. If you have sparse eyelashes or eyebrows apply castor oil eyerynight before you sleep you will see the great results very soon.
Eyebrows – If the eyes are the windows to our soul, then our brows are one of the first things people assess. Try to keep your eyebrows defined, never ever over pluck them. If you have sparse eyebrows or need to give some definition to the eyes, do them using an eyebrow pencil or a eyeshadow with an angled brush. Never use black color for the eyebrow filling. I use taupe or dark brown shade to fill in my eyebrows after the makeup to make my eyebrows stand out. The eyebrow kits that I would recommend is NYX Eyebrow Cake Powder kit, it includes a slanted brush and a spoolie to shape, style and tame eyebrows and MAC Eyebrow pencil.
When you are selecting a shade for your lips check it on the tips of your fingers rather than your wrists as finger tips color is more close to your lips than the wrists. Whether you chose matte, glossy or shimmery its all your choice. To make your lipstick stay all day long exfoliate the lips with sugar and then with a lip liner start by making an x at the Cupid’s bow, a little U shape on the bottom lip, and arrows at the corner, and then connecting the lines in small strokes and fill entire upper and bottom lip with liner. Actually lip liner is drier than lipstick and will adhere to your lips, which will help the color stay, even if your creamy lipstick formula wears off . Apply the lipstick!! Take your tissue and pull it apart so you only have 1 ply. Lay it over your lips and apply translucent powder on top of the tissue. This will let a small amount of powder set your lipstick without making it look dry or dulling the color. Carry the lipstick along to do the touchups to make it last all day long.
Setting sprays are meant to be the last step in your makeup routine. Apply it on top of your completed look, it will make your makeup stay in place all day. It is supposed keep your powders, concealers, and even eyeshadows from absorbing into your skin or melting off. The one which I use is MAC Fix+, I love using this on my bare face as well, it has a refreshing feel it makes me feel like I have a very light lotion on. It acts as a setting spray for your makeup, weather you are using powder, liquid, or both, when you are done you can spritz this a couple times over your makeup and it will set your makeup and make the powder blur into your face giving you that flawless complexion, and keeps foundation from shifting all day!
I hope this whole talk cleared lots of your doubts as I have not mentioned about the brushes in this blog, which I will cover in my next blog “The Makeup Brush Guide” till then keep experimenting with the makeup and the looks, like it down below and share it among your friends !!
Hello my beauties, How have you all been doing? I know it’s been ages since my last post. To be honest I had been super duper busy lately and couldn’t manage take out time to get back to you. Thankyou so much for all your lovely comments, texts, mails regarding my blogs I really appreciate that; it’s really great to see you all being benefited by my blogs and I love you all so much!!! To begin back with my blogs I thought of starting up with the BB, CC and DD creams which I learned all over. So, here we go!!
The market is so flooded with these alphabetic beauty formulations, you can literally dive into it. Brands from high end to low end each has come up with it’s own BB, CC, DD or the coming up EE or GG cream and still you find yourself confused to make a choice among them. Well, my beauties I’m going to tell you all you want know about these alphabetic creams- and what they actually do?
“BB, CC, or any alphabet soup creams can be excellent all in one products for some women, but for many companies the labels are just marketing,” says Board Certified NYC Dermatologist Dr. Rebecca Baxt. So while choosing these creams you must always check the active ingredients of the product fitting into your needs.
BB : ‘Beauty Balm’ or ‘Blemish Balm’
This multifunctional soup was originally formulated in Germany in 1960’s, where a dermatologist developed a cream that would protect skin and provide coverage after laser treatments or surgeries. It was then introduced in South Korea and Japan in 1985. This all-in-one formulation became a sensation in South Korea and spread all through Asia. What BB creams do? Anti-aging components, including peptides and antioxidants such as vitamins A, E, and C Moisturizing workhorses like hyaluronic acid and glycerin Ingredients such as licorice and arbutin that help even out skin tone Light-reflecting mica to give skin a luminous finish Silicone-based ingredients, such as dimethicone, that help smooth the skin, acting much like a foundation primer does Effective sun protection, with broad spectrum SPF 30 or higher.
CC : ‘Complexion Corrector’ or ‘Correct & Cover’ or ‘Color Corrector’
The Complexion Corrector cream is loaded with vitamins C and E and are somewhat similar to BB creams in a way however they are generally a lot lighter in consistency and coverage. Definitely perfect for a minimal coverage or a “no makeup” look just focusing on color correction. CC cream is best for those who are acne-prone, have dull skin, dark spots or constant redness What CC creams do? Lighter than a BB cream, CC cream’s primary purpose is to correct color-related skin issues, such as sallowness or redness. Like BB cream, it has SPF as well leading to sun protection.
DD Creams : ‘Dynamic Do-All’ or ‘Disguise and Diminish’ or ‘Daily Defense’
Fresh to the alphabet cream craze, DD creams are a super cream. They combine the power and benefits of both BB and CC creams, however their primary focus is anti-aging and reducing the appearance of wrinkles. They are formulated to yield results with continued use, so a DD cream should be incorporated into daily routines to see improvements in skin. In Japan, there is a DD Cream which is a snail based serum – nothing to do with tinted creams What DD creams do? The anti-aging specialty of the cream works to diminish wrinkles and fine lines throughout use. Additionally, DD cream will balance skin tone and protect the most sensitive areas of your skin.
The whole difference in a jiffy : ❤
Thoughts: If you want a quick one step, I-have-no-time coverage with skin boosters then definitely go for either BB, CC or DD creams, there are tons out there in the market with varying properties, prices, benefits and coverage, it’s quite easy to find the one that is perfect for you. If you’re a foundation kind of person I’m all for that too. You could use a sheer CC or DD as a base then apply your foundation as well, include it in your daily skin care routine as a moisturiser. The possibilities are endless!! Further waiting to get hands on the upcoming EE, GG……………. and so on alphabetic creams and whatever benefits they come up with.
Please let me know which cream is your go to BB, CC or DD in the note down below??

Hello my beauties!!!!!!!! I am super excited to share my latest beauty haul, full of crazy stuffs from my trip to Thailand.. I’m going to talk only about my topmost latest beauty haul otherwise the whole list is too long. In Thailand we inevitably used to end up in 7 eleven from morning to evening to fetch something or the other and I never used to miss any chance to sneak in to the general beauty supplies section and always came out with a bunch of various beauty products in tester size which is great for travellers for one time use. So, naturally I tested a bunch of them during my whole vacations and brought back all the products which I fell in love with. Their market is hoarded with Asian, Korean beauty products making all the promises for a great skin care which is either unavailable in India or being sold with a very high price tag. I wish they were available here at same price.
1. Snail Cream : Have you heard of it???
In this natural cosmetic snail slime is the main ingredient. Now, snail slime would probably be the last thing you’d want to put on your skin, but snail cream is literally flying off the shelves these days and is actually being used as a beauty aid and is meant to reduce inflammation and redness, stimulate skin regeneration, and lock moisture into the skin. I got Karmart Cathy Doll Snail Bright Cream for myself and Karmart Cathy Doll Snail Gold Cream for my mum. It has 60% snail mucus, super duper cute packaging and has an outlet preventing any contamination over several use. The Asians simply love snail beauty products and made me fall in love with too.
2. Serum : Jenny Sweet White Snail Serum-Korean DD
As I was already loving the snail cream, I gave a try to Snail Serum too. It states that it is an antioxidant, retains moisture and repairs skin cells, also helps in shedding of dead skin cells, stimulates the skin, reduces inflammation and acne, brittleness to fade and moisturizes to prevent dryness, suppresses the growth of pathogens, provides elasticity to the skin, helps in keeping skin younger. I don’t know whether it is working on me this way or not, but yes it gives an extra hydration to my skin. Which is not oily at all, just perfect hydration.
3. Snowgirl Squalane Serum Cream
When the snails weren’t enough of the ingredients in moisturising I came across this product which contains an extract made from shark. To be more detailed, this Serum Cream or Cream Serum contains squalane oil from shark liver. The other ingredients are glutathione which is an antioxidant and a number one ingredient for safe brightening of the skin and is full of beneficial ingredients like mineral oils and fruit extracts. Perfect as a night cream.
4. Sleeping Masks : Merci Sleeping Mask II
Asians are ardently committed towards their night skincare routine. They not only apply night time moisturizers, they have got sleeping masks too. Sleeping packs are heavy duty night creams that aim to infuse the skin with stacks of nutrients between the hours of 10 p.m. and 2 a.m. when the skin is most focused on healing and rejuvenation. To repair the dryness and few bumps I had got on my forehead due to air travel, sun exposure and climate change, I applied it for a night and over the night all the pimples were gone and my skin was supple and smooth again. It was a miracle mask.
5. Facial Freckle Remover Cream : Kuam Im 111 cream
Kuan Im is a popular brand of pure pearl cream in Asia. It states that it is effective for acne, freckles, dark spots, acts as a UV sunblock and can be used as a foundation cream for makeup. Let’s see how effectively it’s going to work on me, but it is super cheap just for 17 Baht and safe for the skin. Hope someday I wake up and all my freckles are gone.
6. Essence : Cathy Doll Water Splash With EssenceI would rather call it magic essence, Cathy Doll Water Splash Essence with L-glutathione is an instant whitening cream that can be used alone or as a primer or base for your makeup. It is a very lightweight cream, almost foamy in texture, that is easily absorbed into the skin leaving you with a fairer complexion. The magic happens in 1-2-3 simple and easy steps – apply the essence to your face, rub in circular motion until you see droplets of water and continue to spread it across your face until it dries up and gets completely absorbed by your skin and gives a very natural fair effect. It was fun using it when I had to hide my tan. Wish I had got more of them.
7. Nose Blackheads Strip: Biore Cleansing Strips
These are my HG pore strips now .. forget PONDS or any other strips available. I personally think that it’s best to use this product after showering because after you shower your pores open up from the steam. I’ve even tried the strips on my husband and now he’s also officially a big fan and it works great on him and never had any problems.
8. Bathing Salts : Yoko Spa Milk Salt
It’s an awesome scrub. The smell of sweet milk vanilla hits you once you open the package, and inside, fine granular grains of salt. I adore the milk vanilla smell of it! It makes my skin feels super duper ultra smooth, I love touching my hands and feet after using the salt as though I’ve gone through a luxury bath. It is even mentioned in the back that is being distributed in India. Yayy!!
9. Makeup Starter Serum :NIVEA Make Up Starter 3 in 1 moisturising serum.
The inevitable application of cosmetics on face for 8 hour / day for years contributes to the skin pigmentation, discoloration and dullness. You might be using whitening cream with SPF to the brighten the skin but the skin continues to be dark and have dark spot. Soooo, this is the solution for you!!! The makeup starter serum acts as a shield for skin from harsh chemicals of makeup and claims to restore the skin from the effect of harsh chemical makeup and sun. Isn’t it nice, a protecting shield for your skin from sun and the chemicals. Hope they start selling it in India too soon. 🙂
10. Caring Hair Expert Contour Styling Mousse
The mousse texture of the product ensures easy application and speedy drying as little moisture is added to the hair. It contains hair conditioner which helped to keep my ends soft while hitting the beach. It doesn’t give that ‘crispy’ feel that some brands do. This product great to get those beachy waves or perfect curls. A perfect hairstyling mousse for curls… ❤
The packaging claims that the product is meant to repair damaged hair, split ends, dry hair. It heals split and prevents split ends. Leads to healthy, soft, shiny and easy to comb hair. I haven’t tried it yet, will be reviewing about it soon.
12. Hair Vitamin : Lesasha Hair Vitamin Repairing Serum Capsules Leave on with Seaweed
Another protection and repair for your hair. I came across this capsule while going through the haircare products and as soon as I saw it, I just knew I have to try it. It has a kind of formula that penetrates deep into the hair shaft leaving hair healthy, silky, soft, shiny, frizz free and easy to comb. Days spent at the ocean turned my hair extremely frizzy and difficult to manage and this serum came as a rescue to my hair and my hair was as smooth as before. The leave in serum nourishes and repairs the hair like no other product that I have ever tried, I am super happy with the results.
I’m so fascinated by this product because I’m a fan of anything that transforms! The BB cream only comes in white shade creamy texture and has self-adjusting BB Capsules which get crushed and melted during the blending process and self adjusts to match to the skin tone and magically transforms skin for an enlivened lit-from-within complexion. Isn’t that superb. Finishing off with a translucent powder and you are ready to go!!
The eyebrows are of paramount importance to the harmony of the features. It’s a perfect eyebrow pencil with a perfect shade to match my eyebrows. Bourjois has created subtle and delicate, absolutely undetectable intermediate shades. I would highly recommend it to all. It’s one of the best eyebrow liner.
16. Eyelashes : Mascaras Although I tried to resist myself from fetching mascaras but I couldn’t. I’m so obsessed with mascaras and the additions were required. The mascaras that I fetched are
“Maybelline Volum’Express Mascara The Falsies Big Eyes“ – This mascara has wands for both the upper lash and lower lash, the best part of this mascara is definitly the lower lashes side. The application in the lower lashes makes a huge difference and really does help to achieve the Big Eyes effect! So beauties, time to love your lower lashes with the new wand and see what difference it makes!
“Maybelline Lashionista“ – What i love most about this mascara is that it doesn’t clump even after many layers, which is essentially the key to getting really long lashes with any fibre type mascara.
This mascara is amazing! It’s very black which I love, it gives my lashes both the length & thickness that I want in a mascara!
16. Nailpaints : The finishing touch to the look
All nailpaints from Etude House were definitely cute and fun to play with and Etude House Play Nail 114 PK 023, similar to Prom Queen from same brand, throbbed my heart. Play Nail is a sheer pale pink multi-glitter polish. There are iridescent glitters, silver and coloured hexes in large and small sizes, so it’s really got it all. Uber pretty!
Ah…. This was all about my topmost beauty haul from the trip..!!!
If you enjoyed my blog: like it down below, comment and share, it inspires me to write more!!
Hello my beauties, As I had promised you all in my previous blog on My Favorite Makeup Wearables, today I’m going to talk all about the make-up brushes, I’m going to cover everything related to brushes in this blog, as there’s so much to talk about the makeup brushes. I strongly believe that there is no point in having great make-up products until you don’t have right tools to apply. Well, I would try my best to explain to you what each makeup brushes are actually for and the must have make-up tools in your collection. Makeup tools are essential when you are perfecting your look. You can never go wrong with your makeup when you have got the right tool and technique. I can literally go on and on talking about the make-up brushes. A right brush can literally change everything.
Basically there are several assorted brushes for your face, eyes, lips, eyelashes and even eyebrows. They are either synthetic brushes or natural brushes, both the brushes are useful for different functions when it comes to applying make-up and both are essential to your personal or professional makeup kit. Synthetic hair brush is great for cream and liquid products – including foundation, cream blush, gel liner and concealer. It is generally used because it does not absorb much of the product and apply a smooth finish onto the skin without much streaking. Natural hair brushes are the best for powder products – powder blush, face powder, bronzer and eye-shadow included. When the hairs are applied with pressure, they have more texture than synthetic bristles and therefore pick up powder well and blending is made easier and more natural on the skin. You can’t blend that well with synthetic bristles because the bristles don’t move as freely as natural hair bristles do.
Each picture of the brushes in this blog are linked to the video tutorials.. ❤
Click on the pictures to get video tutorials !!!
Blending Sponge Although this isn’t a brush, a blending sponge is a great tool to use with liquid foundations, powder foundation and even concealer, not too pricey, easy to use and definitely a must have in every makeup collection. It evenly blends makeup to give your face a flawless, smooth, enhanced finish, leaving you looking gorgeous.
The flat top Kabuki brushes are designed for the application of liquid, powder or cream cosmetics, to the flat areas of the face such as the cheeks and forehead. It has soft, dense bristles and just applies foundation like a dream.
This brush is a blend of synthetic fibers and goat hair. It is used for light powder, liquid or cream products. It can give you an airbrushed look when used with powder.
A concealer brush is used to apply correcting formulas to get that flawless look used to conceals dark circles, redness, and all other imperfections on your face. The short, synthetic bristles allow you to buff and blend from light to heavy, and achieve perfect, even coverage across your face.
An angled brush is generally ideal for sculpting and contouring the cheekbones, this brush is an essential for highlighting too, generally made of natural hair for controlled product application.
A perfect blush brush applies, blends, and contours the blush to give it a more natural flush of color to the cheeks. The soft, rounded and flexible bristles allows you to control the amount of color you apply.
This is the most common of all brushes and should be in every makeup collection. It should be used to apply any type of powder foundation product. An extra large paddle-shaped brush featuring a fluffed, rounded tip, soft natural fibre, this brush is specially designed to provide flawless application of powder to face or body.
A kabuki brush is used to apply mineral foundation powder, blush, setting powder by using a circular motion to buff powder into your skin. Because of its design, the brush blends powdered make up evenly on the skin and creates a very natural looking coverage, taking your makeup to next level.
It’s a stiff flat brush to apply eyeshadow to your entire lid. This brush is best for picking up lots of pigment and distributing it over your entire eyelid.
It’s a soft or stiff dome brush is used for applying eyeshadow to your crease and blending it outwards. These are a must-have for getting a smooth, even gradation of color from your lash line up to your browbone.
This brush is perfect for applying and blending in powder and cream eye shadows along the crease of your lids and helps to achieve the soft, gradient effect in shadows. It can also be used for blending under-eye concealer as well.
This brush can be used to define your eyes. It can be used with gel eyeliners or even along your crease to get a more precise line.
This is important when you are filling in your eyebrows. It is angled so that you can get even the thinnest areas of your brows.
These brushes are synthetic, typically tiny and allow lipstick or gloss to be applied more precisely to the lips.
Last but not the least Mascara wand, to be true all the mascaras are similar except a little waterproofing here, a little fortifying protein there, and different pigmentation, there’s really not much difference between them. If you thought all the mascara wands were the same, think again, because each type of mascara wand serves a different and specific purpose, and choosing the right one is important.
